This role serves as the Sales Leader for The Depot Hotel Complex, encompassing the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot, Residence Inn Minneapolis Downtown at The Depot, and Depot Parking. The primary responsibility is to drive revenue growth by acquiring new business and nurturing existing corporate accounts and social clients. The Sales Leader will leverage strategic sales expertise to maximize profitability, uphold service quality, and lead a high-performing team dedicated to selling and servicing clients across the complex.

• Accountable for aggressively pursuing business revenue goals (rooms, catering and meeting room revenues) and achieving established Personal Performance Expectations for self and team.
• Responsible for soliciting transient and group demand generators to capitalize on revenue opportunities.
• Uses expertise to advise and implement changes to sales and marketing efforts based on sales and guest comments.
• Responsible for effectively managing revenue by utilizing market industry data and knowledge to secure appropriate business to maximize hotel profitability.
• Responsible for utilizing sales tools/systems to accurately identify, report, forecast and communicate sales data.
• Ensures integrity of sales data by documenting information in Delphi or CI/TY on a daily basis.
• Utilizes sales tools such as Hoteligence, STR report, reader boards and other market intelligence to drive business.
• Responsible for client satisfaction by ensuring the clients’ needs and concerns are responded to in a courteous and timely manner.
• Ensures effective communication of client needs from sales to appropriate operational departments.
• Provides follow-up calls and correspondence to clients to encourage repeat business/customer referrals.
• Acts as a role model in sales techniques, mentoring other members of the department as needed.
• May be responsible for working in conjunction with supervisor in the interviewing, hiring, coaching, discipline and development of all associates.
• Motivates staff by providing ongoing feedback, and rewarding/recognizing associates.
• Utilizes available resources and adheres to CSM training policies.
• Ensures all company, brand, and department specific training requirements are met.
• Responsible for effective self/workload management.
• Demonstrates clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Promotes collaboration and positive, professional work environment.
• Attends all daily, weekly and/or monthly department/hotel meetings to ensure proper communication/planning occurs.
• Adheres to all CSM Standard Operating Procedures.
• Must be flexible in work schedule as needed.
• Ensures a clean and safe work environment to maintain standards per CSM, brand, local, state and federal regulations.
• Follows all CSM procedures for guest/associate incidents.
• Knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
• Responsible for management of catering expenses to maximize hotel profitability.
• Responsible for effective labor management through proper scheduling, monitoring, and adjusting based on business needs.
• Follows CSM procurement guidelines and applies good business judgment.
• Assists with the preparation and management of the department budget.
• Manages and maintains company assets to stay within budget guidelines and prolong the life of company resources.
• Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive business plan that defines hotel marketing, sales, eCommerce, social media and public relations objectives in a manner designed to develop leads and maximize sales potential and supports financial goals.
• Proactively positions and markets the hotel by effective revenue/yield management to achieve maximum hotel profit.

Competencies/Skills Required: 2 years of sales experience required, preferably in a hotel setting. Must be detail oriented, have ability to communicate well with all levels within and outside the organization, and be able to problem-solve with employees and guests. Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Education: High school diploma or GED required. College degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
