Senior Low Voltage Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Low Voltage Technician to lead installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low voltage systems across commercial and industrial projects. This role requires strong field leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to plan and install efficient, code-compliant cable pathways and supports.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including:
- Structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A, fiber)
- Proficient with fusion and mechanical fiber splicing
- Installing CCTV, access control, and intrusion alarm systems
- Installing Wireless systems, AV, intercom, and paging systems
- Determine the best routing and pathway for cabling, I.E. cable tray, J-hooks, conduit, innerduct, and other support systems
- Install, and secure cable supports in accordance with BICSI, NEC, manufacturer guidelines, and best practices
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and site conditions to plan installations
- Lead job sites and coordinate work with project managers, GCs, and other trades
- Perform system testing, labeling, and documentation to industry standards
- Troubleshoot system and infrastructure issues efficiently
- Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and code requirements
- Mentor and train junior technicians as needed
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe job site
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of hands-on low voltage experience
- Proven experience planning and installing cable pathways and supports
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling standards and low voltage systems
- Ability to work independently and lead field activities
- Experience reading blueprints and construction drawings
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications (BICSI, NICET, manufacturer certifications)
- Fiber termination and testing experience
- Experience with cable tray, conduit bending, and pathway layout
- Experience leading crews or acting as a lead technician
- Knowledge of IP-based security and networked systems
