Low Voltage Estimator – Copper & Fiber Cabling

Salary: up to $90,000 per year depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Estimator with strong knowledge of copper and fiber structured cabling systems. The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret construction drawings, create accurate material takeoffs, develop competitive bids, and collaborate with project managers and vendors to support successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for low-voltage cabling projects, including copper (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) and fiber (MM/SM).
- Review and interpret blueprints, RFPs, specifications, and scope documents.
- Perform site surveys when necessary to validate conditions and requirements.
- Create material and labor takeoffs with accurate cost models.
- Coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing for materials and subcontracted services.
- Develop and submit competitive proposals within required deadlines.
- Work closely with engineering, sales, and project management teams during handoff.
- Track revisions and ensure estimates align with updated documents and changes.
- Maintain an understanding of industry standards, including TIA/EIA, NEC, and BICSI best practices.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in low-voltage estimating, structured cabling, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of copper and fiber cabling types, installation methods, and termination requirements.
- Ability to read and analyze architectural, electrical, and telecommunications drawings.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g. Bluebeam, Accubid, PlanGrid, or similar).
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- BICSI certification (TECH, INST, or RCDD) is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to complete field site visits.
Pay: Up to $90,000.00 per year
