The Role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and scale manufacturing processes for space solar hardware. This role will focus on process development, tooling design, automation, quality systems, and production readiness in a busy aerospace manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is highly hands-on, process-oriented, and motivated to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and throughput while supporting rapid product iteration and scale-up.
Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, and production techniques for high-rate hardware manufacturing
- Design precision tooling and fixtures to improve assembly accuracy, reduce variability, and minimize production cycle time
- Implement automation solutions to improve repeatability and scalability across manufacturing lines
- Collaborate closely with design engineering teams to drive design-for-manufacturing (DFM) improvements
- Support transition of products from development into production by documenting stable and repeatable manufacturing processes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 1 years of experience in manufacturing, process development, or production engineering (internship and academic project experience considered)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in high-rate or mixed-value-stream manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with mechanical assembly processes, production testing, root-cause analysis, and failure analysis methodologies
- Experience developing or improving weld processes and weld inspection methods, including automated systems
- Exposure to aerospace, space systems, or other high-reliability hardware industries
