Branch Manager - Construction Equipment - El Paso, TX
CSG is recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable construction equipment dealership for a General Manager to lead an established operation in El Paso, Texas.
The branch is performing well, has a strong team and culture in place, and does a great job of taking care of its customers. The opportunity is to build on that foundation by driving equipment sales, increasing market share, developing the sales team, and continuing the growth of the overall business.
The Role
The Branch Manager will have full responsibility for the financial and operational performance of the location, including:
- Full profit and loss responsibility
- Leadership of equipment sales, parts, service, and operational functions
- Development and performance management of department leaders and their teams
- Leadership and development of the equipment sales team, which is expected to grow from three to five representatives
- Growth of annual equipment sales
- Development of market coverage, customer relationships, and strategies to increase market share
- Oversight of branch budgets, forecasts, financial performance, and operational controls
- Close collaboration with regional product support leadership to maintain strong parts and service performance
- Development of accountability and performance standards across the branch
- Responsibility for the continued development of the branch's positive culture
The successful individual will inherit a stable and well-run operation rather than a turnaround. The emphasis will be on bringing greater commercial focus to the branch while protecting what already works well.
They will need to understand the numbers, develop their salespeople, maintain strong customer relationships, and hold the team accountable while remaining a visible and credible leader across the business.
Candidate Profile
The client is looking for a commercially minded leader who can combine strong sales leadership with an understanding of the parts and service functions of an equipment dealership.
Experience within construction equipment would be ideal, although backgrounds in equipment rental, cranes, commercial trucks, agricultural equipment, material handling, industrial equipment, or another closely related heavy equipment business will also be considered.
The successful candidate should offer:
- Previous responsibility for a profit centre, branch, or significant business operation
- Strong equipment sales and customer relationship experience
- Experience leading, coaching, and holding salespeople accountable for performance
- Strong financial and commercial understanding, including P&L and budget management
- Sufficient knowledge of parts and service to effectively lead a complete branch operation
- A track record of developing teams and creating accountability without damaging culture
- Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred
