We are looking for a full time Field Service Technician to start a route at the beginning of April. We are a small but growing business, and the job atmosphere is very relaxed and no-nonsense. The job consists of doing field repair and maintenance on small engine related equipment, such as lawn and snow equipment, primarily lawn/garden tractors, zero turns, walk behinds and snow blowers. This job is primarily on the road, very self-motivated and largely unsupervised, so good work ethic and a high level of integrity and honesty is required.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on small engines and small engine related equipment at customer's locations
- Utilize technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and measuring instruments to diagnose issues accurately.
- Operate and test various equipment including lawn mowers, snow blowers, lawn/garden tractors, zero turns, etc.
- Diagnose electrical problems involving 12 volt safety systems and small engine ignition systems.
- Drive a box truck type service truck to customer's locations and effectively manage road time and daily schedule.
- Adhere to safe operation of both, customer equipment and company equipment.
- Use online or paper parts look-up tools and create work orders, estimates and invoices for customer equipment.
- Maintain service vehicles and assist with general shop projects during the off-season
- Standing, walking, lifting or moving up to 100lbs occasionally, and the normal activity of this role.
Qualifications
- Stout mechanical aptitude and ability
- Moderate to strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience servicing and maintaining small engine/auto/marine/powersports equipment, but small engine specific experience is preferred
- Reliability and integrity – show up on time and willingness to work
- Responsibility – you are largely in charge of your own work during the day.
- Technological proficiency (Ipad/laptop)
- Set of tools and tool chest
- Valid Minnesota driver's license, 4 years driving experience, no serious record. Experience with large vehicles preferred
- Able to pass a DOT physical
Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
