Job Title: Marketing and Communications Coordinator

The Collegiate Strength and Conditioning association (CSCCa) is a non-profit national certifying agency for professionals working in the athletic performance profession, specifically at the collegiate and professional sport levels. Our mission is to support the strength and conditioning coach by maximizing their abilities, skills, and knowledge through education, certification, and development.
Job Summary:
The CSCCa is seeking a Marketing and Communication Coordinator with experience in the sports industry. This pivotal role is responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing all marketing and communications efforts across the organization to audiences including members, sponsors, partners, and the public. Key areas of responsibility and oversight include strategic planning, branding, messaging, digital and print marketing, collateral design and creation, media relations, and organizational storytelling. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator works closely with the Executive Team to ensure the success of strategic initiatives and the fulfillment of CSCCa’s work and mission. Occasional travel will be required. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
Essential Duties
· Build and direct a strong, well-designed, well-defined strategic marketing and communications plan that promotes the organization’s mission, digital organizing tactics, social media strategies, and crafting compelling and persuasive narratives.
· Ensure consistent and proper use of CSCCa’s brand and messaging across all internal and external channels using the organizational brand guidelines.
· Create all content for social media, website, emails, infographics, swag items and signage, and special projects as needed.
· Manage CSCCa marketing calendar, including social media, email, sponsored content, and newsletters.
· Serve as the point of contact on all social media channels: Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X.
· Write stories in a variety of formats for different channels including organization’s newsletter, social media platforms, website, and revenue stream appeals.
· Coordinate shared messaging with staff and partners that is based on research, best practices, and the organization's values.
· Develop metrics for measuring the effectiveness of the marketing and communications programs of the organization.
· Develop targeted messaging for various audiences including members, sponsors, partners, prospective supporters.
· Manage various marketing vendor relationships including photography, videography, professional printing, and website developer.
· Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Experience with digital media including email marketing, social media, website administration, and other web-based content.
· Demonstrated knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, social media, WordPress, Canva, and email marketing platforms.
· Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
· Graphic design skills, visual communications
· Knowledge of fundraising principles and strategies
· Ability to identify and segment multiple audiences, determine the best distribution channels for each audience, and transform key messaging points depending on the intended audience.
· Ability to look at situations from several points of view and take a collaborative approach to problem-solving, working effectively with individuals at all levels (internally and externally, including deferring, where appropriate, to the specialized expertise of colleagues and external partners)
· Superior analytical, critical thinking, problem solving skills.
· Success in managing multiple short- and long-term projects simultaneously.
· Experience in media relations and crisis communication
· Proficiency with office technology including online communication, MS Office Suite, and a willingness to learn new techniques, procedures, processes, and computer programs as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree from a college/university in marketing, communications, or another related field
· 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or related field
· Proven ability to create eye-catching digital media and marketing materials.
Compensation and Benefits
Base pay rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits include all paid federal holidays. This is a part-time position within a 501 (c)(3) organization.
