Intro:
The Manager of Client Accounting is responsible for leading a professionally qualified Client Accounting team delivering management, financial, and statutory reporting for a portfolio of Corporate clients. This role oversees quality, resourcing, and timely delivery across SPV/FVC structures, ensuring consistent accounting treatment and strong client experience. You will coach and develop team members, partner with internal stakeholders, and support commercial activity across existing and prospective client relationships. The role reports to the Managing Director.
Some of the things you’ll be doing:
- Lead and manage a team delivering month-end and quarter-end management accounts, statutory financial statements
- Plan capacity and allocate portfolios effectively to meet service levels, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain a high-performing team; set clear objectives and create a structured work plan for delivery.
- Complete performance reviews and ongoing coaching, supporting professional development (exams, progression, and stretch responsibilities).
- Maintain high standards of technical accuracy and consistency of accounting treatment across entities; contribute to technical discussions with auditors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate and schedule annual audit timelines with audit managers and ensure readiness (work papers, reconciliations, and evidence).
- Ensure accurate time recording and operational discipline across the team, including adherence to internal policies and controls.
- Review billing and invoices to confirm services delivered are accurately captured and charged, including additional services where applicable.
- Support growth by contributing to quotes/proposals and identifying opportunities to expand services within existing client portfolios.

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?
- State Authorised Accountant (autorisert Regnskapsfører), with a minimum of 5 years experience
- Demonstrable experience leading and developing an accounting team in a client service environment
- Strong working knowledge of management reporting, statutory reporting, and audit coordination; comfort working with multiple SPVs and deadlines.
- Ability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision and apply good judgement in risk, quality, and client matters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting matters clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and ability to prioritise work across competing deadlines.
- Advanced Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience delivering client accounting services for SPVs
- Experience overseeing VAT returns and/or coordinating indirect tax deliverables in an accounting operations context.
- Proven involvement in commercial activities such as scoping, pricing support, or identifying additional services for existing clients.
- Experience partnering with auditors on complex engagements and driving standardisation of accounting treatment across portfolios.
