Role Description The Scouting Director is a full-time or part-time, remote role responsible for leading and overseeing all scouting and recruiting operations. This position manages the evaluation of student-athletes, develops scouting strategies, and maintains relationships. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing athlete profiles and game footage, coordinating scouting reports, setting performance benchmarks, and ensuring consistent, objective assessment standards. The Scouting Director is assign coverage areas, and provide high-quality evaluations. The role also involves collaborating with leadership on program development, contributing to digital content about recruiting trends, and using data to refine scouting processes and support organizational growth.
Qualifications
- Experience leading scouting or recruiting programs in sports, with a strong understanding of athletic evaluation and college recruiting processes.
- Ability to analyze performance data, game film, and athlete profiles to produce clear, actionable scouting reports.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with athletes, families, coaches, and partner institutions.
- Proven organizational and leadership skills, including managing remote teams, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
- Comfort with remote work technology, databases, and digital tools used for scouting, reporting, and communication.
- Knowledge of NCAA and other relevant eligibility and recruiting guidelines is highly beneficial.
- Prior experience in coaching, sports administration, or athletic consulting is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Education, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
