Job Title: Front Desk Opener – Fitness Center
Position Type: Part-time (Early Morning Shifts)
Overview:
The Front Desk Closer plays a key role in creating a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for members starting their day at the gym. This position is responsible for opening the facility, preparing all areas for operation, and providing excellent customer service to members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Close the facility each morning, ensuring all lights, TVs, music, and other systems are turned on and functioning properly.
- Maintain cleanliness of the entire gym, including equipment, floors, mirrors, and locker rooms.
- Clean and sanitize all fitness equipment and high-touch areas regularly.
- Do laundry for gym towels and other cleaning materials as needed.
- Re-rack and organize weights and other gym equipment throughout the shift to maintain a tidy workout area.
- Answer phones and assist with member inquiries, scheduling, and information requests.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting all members and guests with professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Sell memberships, process payments, and assist with point-of-sale transactions.
- Monitor gym policies and safety procedures to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
Qualifications
- Friendly, reliable, and punctual—especially for early morning shifts.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale experience preferred.
- Prior fitness or customer service experience is a plus.
Work Environment
- Evening schedule ; schedule may vary depending on gym location and operations.
- Physical requirements include standing for long periods, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and cleaning duties.
