Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Assist Lead Structural Engineer with conceptualization, planning, execution, quality control and closing processes of projects.
Coordinate with related disciplines.
Responsible for the preparation of project specific Construction Documents (Drawings, Calculations Packages & Specifications) and providing Construction Administration services/Field Engineering services.
Perform design and calculation tasks based on standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Apply standard practices, engineering fundamentals, and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, and follows design through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from engineers and architects.
Responsible for overall management of small -sized projects or has technical responsibility on a project.
Assure compliance and provide input with established firm-wide policies and procedures as related to project execution.
Make recommendations and decisions that impact a project.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
5-10 years of experience as a Structural Engineer with at least three years managing medium-sized governmental or infrastructure projects with significant technical responsibilities on a project.
Professional Engineer License, preferably in New York or New Jersey.
Working knowledge of ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, Microsoft Office suite, MATHCAD, Microsoft Teams & AutoCAD. Revit experience a plus.
Commercial building, water, wastewater, power and/or transportation desired.
Proficiency in reinforced concrete and structural steel design.
Solid background in mathematics, physics and mechanics of materials.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge and Design experience of foundation types and soil/structure interaction.
Solid background in dynamics, wind and earthquake design of structures.
Excellent oral, written skills and communication skills.
Teamwork and customer satisfaction oriented.
Curiosity and interest in continuous learning in AI and comfort experimenting and iterating quickly; uses data to validate ideas and measure impact.
Commitment to ethical and responsible AI adoption, including privacy-by-design and safe use of tools.
