Responsibilities

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Design HVAC systems, with a focus on steam and DX systems preferred.
• Prepare design documents for permitting, bidding, and construction.
• Review of construction documents prepared by other consultants.
• Provide design oversight and coordinate with consultants.
• Manage programs and ensure proper oversight.
• Attend meetings during both the design of a project and construction phases.
• Collaborates effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8 plus years of design experience for HVAC systems for a variety of facilities for multi-family, institutional and state agency and municipal projects.
• Proficient in preparing designs for HVAC systems.
• Skilled in performing cooling and heating load calculations.
• Strong understanding of HVAC controls.
• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD required.
• Ability to manage projects from design through construction administration.
• NYS PE license is preferred.
• Experience with NYCHA projects preferred.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Excellent creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Curiosity and interest in continuous learning in AI and comfort experimenting and iterating quickly; uses data to validate ideas and measure impact.
• Commitment to ethical and responsible AI adoption, including privacy-by-design and safe use of tools.
