The Contract Content Lead, Science is responsible for continuously managing and monitoring assigned science content development projects. This role is responsible for fulfillment of all contractual obligations with clients and to ensure delivery of high-quality service on all projects. The Contract Content Lead oversees day-to-day content development of all assigned projects, including managing independent contractors and providing project status and escalating issues to the Director/Associate Director. The Contract Content Lead ensures that all materials are high-quality, accurate, consistent, and adhere to all client-specified rules and guidelines.
Expected time commitment of 20 to 40 hours a week for 3 to 6 months, with availability to work during standard US business hours.

- Serves as the content and assessment expert on assigned science curriculum development projects.
- Manages the distribution of writing and editing tasks for internal and external editorial resources on assigned projects.
- Reviews materials from independent contractors and strategically communicates feedback to ensure quality on subsequent assignments.
- Writes, edits, and revises content as needed on assigned projects.
- Effectively and confidently participates in client-facing meetings.
- Anticipates the needs of project teams and works proactively to address them.
- Works with Project Management to create and maintain editorial schedules, workflows, and other project planning documents as required.
- Provides training to editorial resources and creates and/or maintains well-organized resources, such as content prototypes, templates, guidelines, and checklists.
- Directs and ensures content compliance to standards and client expectations.
- Communicates effectively and in a timely manner both internally and externally.
- Reports project status to CSA Director/Associate Director regularly, informs appropriate CSA staff of issues with content, schedule, or scope effectively and immediately.
- Is consistently well-organized and has answers to queries from team or management or client at fingertips.
- Maintains professionalism, calm approach, and commitment even when under pressure.

Supervisory Responsibility
The Contract Content Lead, Science will manage and coordinate the necessary number of independent contractors needed to complete all tasks.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the sciences or a related field, or related work experience
- At least 5 years of content development experience in ed tech or education publishing
- Science content development management experience of teams consisting of at least 3 people
- Familiarity with NGSS and three-dimensional learning
- Assessment development experience strongly preferred
