Level II Data Technician - California (Part-time)

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Level 2 Data Center Contractor to support enterprise data center build and upgrade projects at our Oakland facility. This role is structured as an independent contractor engagement and is ideal for a self-directed professional with experience in mission-critical environments. Effort, Energy, and ExecutionKeep Your Axe SharpKey ResponsibilitiesPerform cabinet, rack, and hardware installations, including grounding and bonding, using contractor-owned toolsBuild and manage cable infrastructure: ironwork, cable trays, ladder racks, fiber ducts, and structured cablingInstall, dress, lace, label, and route fiber, Ethernet, coax, alarm, and low-voltage cabling to enterprise standardsAdd, remove, and modify non-powered and passive equipment as specified in the scope of workPerform cable continuity testing and support basic DC power tasksMaintain clean, secure, and compliant work areas in live data center environmentsCoordinate progress, timelines, and deliverables with project managers and customer representatives Required QualificationsDemonstrated experience performing data center installation work as an independent contractorStrong mechanical and basic electrical aptitudeWorking knowledge of structured cabling systems, racks, and grounding practicesProficiency in cable dressing, lacing, labeling, and testingAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and high attention to detailPreferred QualificationsExperience in enterprise, colocation, or regulated data center environmentsFamiliarity with ANSI/TIA standards, NEC requirements, and data center best practicesOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform bending, kneeling, standing, and climbing tasksComfortable working on ladders and elevated pathwaysFlexibility to perform work during nights or weekends as required by project scope
