JOB SUMMARY
Crystal seeks a Seasonal Part-time Boys Soccer JV Head Coach. The Boys Soccer JV Head Coach is responsible for the oversight of athletic training, strength and conditioning workouts, and providing technical support and training to athletes, as appropriate to the sport. Coaches have responsibilities not only to the students under their supervision, but also to the parents, the school, and the community.

Essential Functions

- Exhibits and mentors the scholar-athletes in good sportsmanship and fair play.
- Attends mandatory coaches’ meetings.
- Monitors the conduct of their scholar-athletes during practices and games.
- Provides a safe environment for the scholar-athletes by checking the playing area and equipment before each practice, and game/competition.
- Prevents injuries through thoughtful, balanced workouts.
- Instructs scholar-athletes in the basic rules and fundamentals of the sport.
- Assists in implementing training programs to develop athletes in the sport.
- Oversees uniform distribution and collection.
- Sends weekly communications with players and parents/guardians.
- Engage with parents/guardians, in collaboration with the AD, to ensure a positive experience for JV soccer players.

Travel Required
- Light travel between the MS and US campuses.
- Travel to and from competitions in the Bay Area.

Required education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- One year of minimum related experience is preferred
- Valid CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (American Red Cross/American Heart Association)
- Soccer playing and coaching experience (2 years preferred)
- General knowledge of best practices in interscholastic athletics and soccer, specifically
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Able to work in a dynamic environment, dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts
- Works in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
- Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20-50 pounds

Salary and Benefits
This is a seasonal, part-time position averaging approximately 15 hours per week. It is not eligible for benefits. The position is paid hourly at a rate of $25 per hour with a target pay of $4,000-$4,500 for the season. The season runs from November 3, 2025, through February 18, 2025, with the potential for postseason varsity support beginning February 21 and extending beyond.
The recruitment period will remain open until sufficient resumes have been received and may close at any time a sufficient pool of highly qualified candidates has been established. First consideration will be given to individuals who apply between September 26, 2025, through October 10, 2025. Second consideration will be given to individuals who apply between October 10, 2025, through October 24, 2025. The ideal start date for this position is November 3, 2025.
