About Crystal PM

Every day, over 10,000 eye care professionals log into Crystal’s software before they see their first patient. We're the operating system behind independent eyecare — the EHR, practice management, billing, scheduling, and payments platform that keeps these practices running smoothly.

With new leadership, fresh growth capital from top-tier software and search fund investors, and a clear runway to $35mm in ARR, Crystal is at an inflection point. We're not a startup – we're a market leader focused on long-term value creation. That means building the team, the product, and the go-to-market engine to execute on our ambitious goals.

We’re assembling a team that matches the opportunity. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, we'd like to hear from you.

The Role

This role is for someone who gets energized by blank canvases, not intimidated by them. You'll define what "great" looks like, ship it, prove it with data, then build the team and processes to scale it. If you'd rather inherit a roadmap than create one, or manage a team before proving you can ship alone—this isn't your role.

But if you want to be the founding product leader who builds Crystal's next major revenue stream, influences company strategy through shipping outcomes, and uses AI to move faster than traditional PMs thought possible—let's talk.

What Success Looks Like

  • Own end-to-end product development for a new 0→1 product from concept through launch, serving as founding product leader before building a team
  • Leverage AI tools extensively throughout the product development lifecycle—from customer research and user story generation to documentation, competitive analysis, and data synthesis
  • Establish data-driven processes and customer feedback loops that inform product decisions and validate assumptions rapidly
  • Work directly with engineering and design resources to ship the MVP and first major iterations, managing the product backlog and sprints
  • Collaborate with sales, support, and leadership teams to gather market insights, define pricing strategy, and drive initial customer adoption
  • Build repeatable processes, frameworks, and documentation that will enable future team scaling once product-market fit is achieved

Qualifications

  • 4 - 8 years of product management experience with at least 2 years building new products from scratch (0→1 experience required)
  • Proven track record launching successful products in SaaS, particularly in outpatient specialties (vision care, PT, dentistry, derm, chiro, medspa) or adjacent markets (fintech/insuretech, consumer SaaS, marketplaces)
  • Daily, fluent usage of AI tools for product work—proficiency with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar tools for requirements gathering, user story writing, research synthesis, competitive analysis, and documentation
  • Proven ability to document platform capabilities and user workflows for documentation
  • Proven ability to evaluate end-user business needs, translate them into technical requirements, and manage the development and delivery of new platforms, tools, or features
  • Commitment to quality and proven experience interfacing with stakeholders to successfully deliver projects, integrations, and deliverables.

Personal Attributes

  • AI-native product leader: Comfortable using AI tools as core part of daily workflow, constantly experimenting with new capabilities, and teaching others best practices
  • Entrepreneurial and passionate to innovate and execute across a rapidly growing, fast paced company
  • Builder mentality with passion for creating products from scratch and continuously improving them based on customer feedback
  • Exceptional balance of strategic thinking and tactical execution—equally comfortable defining product vision and writing detailed user stories
  • Self-directed and resourceful, able to drive projects forward independently without extensive management oversight
  • Strong technical fluency with ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and understand technical constraints
  • Master of strategic planning, road mapping, user story mapping in order to add a second dimension to the product backlog

Why This Role is Different

  • This is not a traditional senior PM role managing existing products or leading teams
  • You ship features yourself before you build a team
  • You use AI extensively to move faster than a traditional PM could alone
  • You prove product-market fit before getting resources to scale
  • You build the playbook that future PMs will follow
  • You influence company strategy through successful product outcomes, not through org chart position
