Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has an opening for a part time Lunch & Playground Supervisor (2 days per week). The goal of this position is to maintain a positive environment through safe and efficient supervision of school activities in the lunchroom and on the playground.

- Supervise students and maintain order in the lunchroom, on the playground and in the halls/corridors
- Assist in guiding students in development of desirable and acceptable social skills and habits
- Assist in general welfare and safety of students
- Report accidents and hazardous conditions immediately
- Resolve problems that might arise
- Inform teacher and/or principal of any serious problems
- Maintain the school rules and be consistent with discipline
- Encourage healthy attitudes and good bus/playground/lunchroom standards
- Consistently encourage following rules and organization of games to help establish habits of fair play in order to enjoy wholesome recreation activities
- Periodically inspect the safety of equipment on the playground and report safety concerns
- Respond immediately to safety complaints made by students
- Send students to the nurse on matters that require immediate medical attention
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Report to building principal
- Education: GED or high school diploma preferred
- Experience and desire to work with children
- Friendly and shows patience with children
- Positive leadership skills
- Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude while on the job
- Ability to work efficiently with staff, students and community
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow oral and written directions
- Ability to exercise good judgment, neatness, integrity and punctuality

- Physical: Ability to lift 40 pounds to waist height occasionally
- Physical: Good agility and mobility with physical stamina to move about hard and soft play areas and ability to move quickly to students who are posing a risk to themselves or others
