Position Summary
The Housekeeping/Laundry Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. This position plays an essential role in enhancing residents' quality of life by ensuring resident rooms, common areas, and linens are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Housekeeping Duties
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, dining areas, and common spaces.
- Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect surfaces according to facility standards.
- Empty trash and dispose of waste in accordance with infection control procedures.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, tissues, and cleaning products.
- Ensure resident rooms are neat, orderly, and comfortable.
- Follow all cleaning schedules and assigned work areas.
- Report maintenance, repair, or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate department.
Laundry Duties
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens.
- Properly label and handle resident personal laundry to prevent loss or damage.
- Follow infection control procedures when handling soiled linens.
- Maintain laundry equipment and report malfunctions as needed.
- Ensure adequate supplies of clean linens are available throughout the facility.
- Organize and maintain laundry storage areas.
Resident Relations
- Interact with residents in a kind, courteous, and respectful manner.
- Respect resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident requests within the scope of the position.
- Create a positive and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.
General Responsibilities
- Follow all facility policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Comply with infection prevention and control standards.
- Attend required training sessions and staff meetings.
- Work cooperatively with all departments to support resident care and comfort.
- Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in housekeeping and laundry areas based on facility needs.
