Harness Fabrication Technician

In this role, you will:

• Work as a R&D Technician building Aurora’s self-driving technology - this Includes vehicle build, sub-assembly, PCBA solder/rework, and harness build/assembly.
• Candidates must possess excellent documentation practices.
• Work closely with Hardware Engineering and associated teams.
• Follow safety standards and meet internal deadlines.
• Work with limited oversight.
• Seek continuing education and development opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of direct experience in harness fabrication using 1:1 form boards and various tooling in R&D and prototype spaces.
• Strong electrical skills, ability to read wiring schematics and layouts, redline drawings, and communicate with EDS design engineers.
• Strong background in electrical wiring, harness building, and surface-mount circuit board assembly.
• Strong understanding of electrical tools and equipment; crimpers, dies, multimeter, presses, connectors, contacts, wire gauges/types, soldering, microscope, etc.
• Exceptional craftsmanship with the ability to pin out and quality test harnesses/circuit boards.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, PLM, CAD, and various other software tools.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and self-awareness.
• Ability to problem-solve, diagnose, analyze and isolate problems rationally.
• Proficiency with Windows and Google productivity Suite - specifically Sheets
• Able to work independently and in a team environment
• Approach work with a proactive, capable, and willingness attitude to solve problems and support peers
• Ability to multitask under pressure in an unstructured environment

Desirable Qualifications

• IPC training and certification in the following: IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/7721
• Certification and training in GD&T

Pay range is $30-$40 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
