· Guest Services Associate (Seasonal)
· Part-time position including weekends - 20 hrs/week
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Requirements:
· AVAILABILITY ON MULTIPLE WEEKENDS.

· Extensive knowledge of Carteret County area and attractions.
· Professional verbal and written communication skills.
· Dependable and punctual.
· Computer proficiency.

Responsibilities:
· Performs customer service functions; greets visitors; provide visitors with directions to various destinations; give recommendations to local attractions and business based on visitor’s needs. Directly engage and assist visitors with locating appropriate information and collateral.
· Answers the telephone; assists callers; takes and relays messages or directs calls to appropriate staff; returns call’s as necessary.
· Provide assistance and information related to the county and the state, such as local restaurants, lodging, attractions, sites, history, parks, recreation facilities, etc.
· Refills materials from stock as needed; remove outdated materials for disposal; notify manager of low stock materials.
· Perform general housekeeping tasks, which may include cleaning the center, emptying trash cans/recycle bins, and occasional porch cleaning.
· Provide assistance or backup coverage to other employees as needed.
· Assist with Data Entry and updating both partner contact information and local event details.
· Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
Minimum of High School Diploma or educational equivalent.
Experience:
Customer service experience required. Hospitality experience desired.
Special Skills:
Must have a basic knowledge of computers and some basic software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Good interpersonal communication skills are a necessity. The position requires excellent communication skills using Business English.
Working Conditions:
This position requires the flexibility to work an alternating weekday/weekend schedule. It requires punctuality as the centers must be ready to operate at opening time. Reliable transportation and the ability to wrk shifts at both centers is required. Weekend work is required.
This position rotates shifts between the following two visitor center locations:
1. Crystal Coast Visitor Center in Morehead City
3409 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC 28557
2. Crystal Coast Visitor Center in Emerald Isle
8401 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle
This position requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, work independently, plan and organize, and meet schedules and deadlines.
Physical Demands:
Requires the ability to stand frequently, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
