The Essentials:
Schedule: 4-10 hour shifts| Flex Shift and On-Call Requirement
Location: Fairlawn, OH – Hospital – 3557 Embassy Pkwy | On-Site
Specialties: Operating Room, Nursing, Surgical Scrub
What you’ll do:
- Work with the patient being prepped for surgery, their family, and as a member of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Help evaluate the patient, then plan and implement various steps to, during, and beyond surgery.
- responsible through nursing processes for providing and coordinating nursing care, and resource management for patients and families in the operating room.
- Responsible for providing direct patient care to patients and their families by applying and documenting the nursing process, patient assessment, and nursing diagnosis (planning, implementation and evaluation of interventions)
- performs surgical scrub and donning OR attire and personal protective equipment (PPE). Assists team members with gowning and gloving and draping, establishing the sterile field. Gathers, checks and opens supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
- Second Surgical Technologist assists the surgeon and/or first assistant during the operative procedure by carrying out additional technical tasks (Not cutting, clamping, or suturing of tissue). This role is distinct from that of the first assistant and may in some circumstances be performed at the same time as the scrub role.
- Duties include, but are not exclusive to, the following: Holds retractors or instruments as directed by the surgeon
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Graduate of a school of Nursing.
- Experience: Minimum Two (2) to four (4) years of OR experience required
- License: Current license to practice as registered nurse in the State of Ohio. BLS required.
