Position Summary
The Radiology Technologist Assistant is responsible for assisting the technologist with imaging exams. Transporting patients to and from the Radiology room. Perform clerical duties utilizing various software applications. Ability to import, and burn CDs. Performs proper handling of infectious waste and contaminated instruments. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities
Transports patient to and from the Radiology suite, verifying patient identity according to policies and procedures.
Assists technologist with entering data in electronic medical records.
Performs room cleaning duties to make sure all surfaces are disinfected between patients. Reviews Radiology requisition and physician order to ensure proper procedure is performed. Identifies patient and test for accuracy.
Processes Radiology imaging requests. Handles infectious waste, linens and surfaces in an appropriate manner. Answers patients’ general questions; Answers telephone calls/email.
All other duties not specifically assigned.
Position Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: BLS required within 3 months of hire.
