In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations between our customers and technical teams, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service in a hazardous waste management environment.
You will be a key point of contact for customers, providing support, managing service delivery, and collaborating closely with internal teams to resolve operational issues.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers (generators/brokers and other), ensuring their needs are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service.
- Work closely with Operations, Sales, and Management, Brokers, Generators and others to schedule waste deliveries into the facility in accordance to ESOI’s guidelines.
- Address client concerns, complaints, and service requests, ensuring their satisfaction.
- Respond to emails in a timely and professional manner, referring more complex conversations to the appropriate individuals when applicable.
- Maintain effective relationships with key internal/external stakeholders. Seek to continuously improve the solutions we provide
- Work closely with the operations and technical teams to coordinate waste disposal schedules, deliveries, and pickups.
- Create/maintain the delivery schedules for various internal/external customers
- Requests and coordinate proper shipping documents prior to arrival.
- Perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
- Run reports when necessary related to waste volumes per generator.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of client interactions, regulatory documents and upkeep of emails in proper folders.
- Ensure all service logs, regulatory reports, and client communications are properly filed and accessible.
- Prepare and provide manifest documents to Customers as needed.
- In coordination with Manager, maintain records for union employee vacations, floating holidays and absences.
- Education:
- High School Diploma, Associates Degree from an from an accredited College or University preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a customer-facing operations role, preferably in hazardous waste management, environmental services, or industrial operations.
- Familiarity with hazardous waste disposal processes, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate information clearly to clients.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Must exhibit outstanding customer service and follow-up skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams, managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and knowledge of client management software or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of hazardous waste management software or compliance tracking systems.
- Certifications related to hazardous waste handling, OSHA, or environmental safety.
- Experience with regulatory agencies such as EPA, state/local environmental bodies.
- Ability to work in an office environment.
