Job SummaryThe Director of Support Services - Facility Operations and Facility Maintenance is responsible for all on-going operations at Spectrum Center. This role leads the integration, management and operationalization of facility-critical systems and processes which comply with facility-held certifications and NBA policies.Essential Job Duties Leads facility operations and facility maintenance departments for Spectrum Center to ensure facility is fully operational.Oversees and manages the housekeeping services and contractor, Jani King.Responsible for the accurate financial record keeping and reconciliation of Capital and CIP accounts with both the Hornets and City of Charlotte Prepares operating and capital budgets for Spectrum Center and tracks budgets monthly to defend and/or update figures.Manages reports on the CRVAs costs related to event labor and services.Responsible for the management and administration of the facilities certifications and required processes.Conducts staff meetings and creates strategic action items to maintain and upgrade the long-range plans of Spectrum Center. Evaluates progress made against proposed action items and provides leadership in attaining facility goals.Ensures appropriate preventative maintenance plans are prepared and executed in order to maintain building assets. Develops lifecycle plans for building systems and components.Plans long term upgrades to Spectrum Center in order to ensure the facility continues to be recognized as an industry leader.Services the on-going needs of tenants and clients.Determines event viability by maintaining cost controls and examining the conversion and setup process.Oversees the maintenance of facility grounds and security systems; determining when upgrades or repairs are appropriate.Reviews and recommends staffing levels for Spectrum Center events, tracks performance, and manages allocation and deployment of resources.Negotiates and renegotiates contracts with outside vendors.Acts as CRVA liaison between the City of Charlotte and the Charlotte Hornets. Ensures regular communication to Charlotte Hornets on status of special projects and maintenance issues.May perform other duties as required.Consistently deliver the best in customer service. Scope of ResponsibilityThis job is responsible for budgetary analysis, preparation, and review.This job will have periodic access to confidential data including wages and salaries, company records and/or minutes, customer quotes, product costs, and company plans, designs, and/or programs. Supervisory Responsibility Manages up to five subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 42 (full- time and part-time event) employees in Spectrum Center. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also supervises one non-supervisory employee in Spectrum Center. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; and ten plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; and Two-way radio.Physical Demands The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Salary : $159,600 - $287,200
