Equipment manager and mechanic

Overview
We are a Commercial Diving company that works for heavy civil and marine companies. We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Equipment Manager and Mechanic to lead our equipment maintenance operations and ensure the optimal performance of our fleet and machinery. This role is vital in maintaining the reliability, safety, and efficiency of a diverse range of equipment, including heavy machinery, generators, and Commercial Diving equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background, hands-on repair experience, and excellent organizational skills to manage the equipment lifecycle from inspection to repair and replacement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of all equipment, including diesel engines, generators, vehicles, and commercial diving equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using technical manuals, and electrical diagrams; perform repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems before they escalate; ensure all equipment complies with safety standards.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other specialized tools to perform repairs and modifications.
• Manage inventory of parts and supplies; order replacement components as needed to maintain operational readiness.
• Requirements
• Small engine repair and maintenance knowledge
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering devices, and other mechanical repair tools.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely during routine maintenance tasks; physical stamina for demanding work environments.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills; detail-oriented with an emphasis on safety compliance.

Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
