Duties
- Prepare and mix dough using traditional pastry techniques, ensuring proper consistency and flavor development
- Laminate dough by layering butter and folding it multiple times to create the signature flaky texture of croissants
- Shape and cut dough into uniform croissants, maintaining precision for consistent quality
- Bake croissants to perfection, monitoring oven temperatures and baking times for optimal results
- Decorate or finish pastries as needed, including light cake decorating techniques if applicable
- Package baked goods carefully for display or retail sale, ensuring freshness and presentation standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking station, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene protocols
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, baking, or pastry arts with a focus on croissant or similar laminated pastries
- Strong knife skills for shaping dough and trimming baked goods with precision
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to operate bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and dough sheeters confidently
- Excellent attention to detail for consistent product quality and presentation
- Customer service skills to engage with team members and support retail or catering operations when needed
