Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician
Location: Birmingham, AL
Crusher Works is seeking experienced, motivated Heavy Equipment Field Service Technicians to join our growing service team. As an authorized dealer for leading manufacturers in the crushing, screening, shredding, and conveying industries, we provide factory training and the opportunity to work on some of the most advanced equipment in the aggregate, recycling, and mining industries.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, working independently, and traveling to customer job sites throughout the Southeast.
Please Note: This is a travel-intensive position. Heavy Equipment Field Service Technicians should expect to be out of town for the majority of the work week, traveling to customer locations across the Southeast. Overnight travel is a regular and essential part of this role.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain crushing, screening, shredding, and conveying equipment at customer job sites.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and emergency service calls.
- Install, commission, and test new equipment in the field.
- Read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical schematics.
- Accurately complete service reports and communicate repair recommendations to customers and the service department.
- Maintain a professional, customer-focused attitude while representing Crusher Works.
- Operate safely while working independently in a variety of job site environments.
- Maintain company service vehicle, tools, and equipment.
Qualifications
- Experience working on heavy equipment, construction equipment, mining equipment, crushers, screeners, or diesel-powered machinery preferred.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, diesel engine, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel extensively and stay overnight throughout the work week.
