Duties
- Assist the Fitness Manager in overseeing daily operations of the fitness center, including staff supervision and member engagement
- Lead team management efforts by supervising trainers and staff, providing coaching, training, and development opportunities
- Coordinate employee orientation sessions to ensure new team members are well-informed about policies, procedures, and customer service expectations
- Manage scheduling shifts to optimize coverage during peak hours and special events
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new employees
- Oversee inventory management of fitness equipment, supplies, and promotional materials to ensure proper stock levels and maintenance
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and in-person interactions
Requirements
- Proven experience in assistant management roles within fitness or retail environments with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
- Excellent organizational skills with proficiency in time management and multitasking
- Knowledge of POS systems, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and inventory control is preferred
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse clientele effectively
- Demonstrated experience in retail sales, merchandising, marketing, and sales management is advantageous
- Exceptional communication skills paired with a friendly demeanor to foster positive customer relationships
- Ability to handle cash handling duties accurately and responsibly
- Familiarity with retail math concepts such as pricing strategies and budgeting practices
- Prior experience in retail management or grocery store environments is beneficial but not required
