Purpose of the Role
The Shop Porter/Custodian position requires eagerness and the ability to perform general repairs and cleaning across all maintenance needs. The Shop Porter ensures the upkeep and quality of production tools by guaranteeing the operation of mechanical equipment and machinery.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Clean and perform basic repairs/ maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment and tools
- Janitorial and custodial duties throughout the company
- Monitor equipment daily, reset tools for the next day and complete repairs for continued production, following all OSHA regulations
- Clean up along with general shop and office porter duties
- Parts pickup and delivery
- Other job duties as assigned
Academic, Certifications & Trade Qualifications
- Class E Driver's license or CDL with clean driving record
- Minimum of high school graduate or GED
Work Experience, Skills & Strengths
- Mechanically inclined
- Able to lift and carry 75LBS unassisted
- Be able to stand, crouch, and be on your knees for long periods of time
- Able to maneuver heavy machinery
- Healthy in fast paced environments
- Must have or be willing to acquire tools for position
- Basic knowledge of electronics, pneumatic, and hydraulic machinery a plus
- Leads, mentors, and motivates others
Crump Truck & Trailer is looking for a part-time Shop Porter, which may move into full-time status depending on workload. Full-time employees are eligible for our health, dental, and vision insurance after the 90-day probationary period.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.50 per hour
