The In-House Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts, with a particular emphasis on agreements related to ERISA-regulated benefit plans and healthcare services. This role requires a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and business operations within the insurance and healthcare sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including confidentiality agreements, vendor agreements, employment agreements, and service-level agreements
- Ensure contracts align with Crumdale Specialty’s strategic goals and regulatory obligations
- Collaborate with business units, including Captive Sales, Underwriting, and Operations, to support deal structuring and implementation
- Support dispute resolution and contract enforcement as needed
- Maintain organized contract records and contribute to process improvements in contract management
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in good standing
- 5 years of experience in contract law
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and risk management in healthcare and employee benefits is highly preferred
- Experience in the insurance industry or with TPAs, PBMs, or healthcare providers is highly preferred
- Experience with ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and other healthcare regulations preferred
