- Prepare and bake a wide range of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies, following established recipes and quality standards
- Decorate cakes and pastries with precision, incorporating creative designs that delight customers
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and dough sheeters safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by adhering to food safety protocols and sanitation procedures
- Package baked products carefully for retail display or catering orders while ensuring freshness and presentation
- Assist with food production tasks like dough preparation, pastry assembly, and ingredient measurement using basic math skills
- Support high-volume production needs during busy periods while maintaining consistency in product quality
Skills
- Proven experience in baking, pastry preparation, or food production within the food industry
- Strong knife skills for dough handling and ingredient prep
- Expertise in cake decorating techniques and pastry artistry
- Knowledge of food safety management practices to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment efficiently and safely under pressure
- Excellent customer service skills to assist with product inquiries or special requests
- Familiarity with packaging processes and food handling procedures for retail or catering environments
- Basic math skills for accurate ingredient measurement and recipe adherence
