Tour Boat Captain

Cruisin’ Tikis Amelia Island is looking for a friendly, licensed USCG Captain to operate our floating tiki bar tour boats along the beautiful waterways of Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who loves boating, meeting people, and being part of a fun, laid-back experience that brings smiles to locals and tourists alike. Your role is to ensure each cruise is safe, smooth, and unforgettable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a tiki-style boat for public and private charters in the Amelia River, intracoastal waterway, and surrounding areas.
• Welcome passengers aboard and create a positive, laid-back, and entertaining environment.
• Share light narration, local fun facts, and basic historical or wildlife insights (script and local tips provided).
• Perform all required pre- and post-trip safety inspections, logs, and boat cleaning duties.
• Enforce all U.S. Coast Guard safety regulations and ensure guest compliance with safety guidelines.
• Monitor weather conditions and communicate with management regarding any safety or scheduling concerns.
• Handle minor customer service issues or escalate to management when necessary.
• Assist guests in boarding, disembarking, and securing personal items.
• Represent the Cruisin’ Tikis brand with professionalism, personality, and pride.

Qualifications:

Required:

• USCG Captain’s License (OUPV/Six-Pack License minimum)
• Knowledge of navigation in local waterways (or willingness to learn)
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Reliable transportation and flexible schedule availability (including weekends and holidays)

Preferred:

• Experience as a charter or tour boat captain
• Familiarity with Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island history, and wildlife
• Prior experience in tourism, hospitality, or entertainment industries

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in Florida heat/humidity
• Comfortable assisting guests in and out of the boat
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs occasionally (coolers, gear, etc.)
