What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gel Repair position at CRUISERS YACHTS?
Cruiser Yachts is the country's foremost manufacturer of premier fiberglass yachts. At the center of Cruisers Yachts you'll find heart. We are looking to add motivated and hardworking Gel Repair employees to our Oconto Location.
Starting rate of pay is based on experience.
What a Gel Repair position will do:
- Apply proper repair procedures to defects
- Perform sanding/ grinding with various equipment
- Perform hand sanding of areas containing gel coat/ fiberglass surfaces.
- Perform buffing and grinding of areas containing gel coat/ fiberglass surfaces
- Glass work: grind off gel on fiberglass surfaces, hand roll and wet area to fix cracks
- Inspect and mark repairs and defects
- Grind/router out defects
- Clean parts of boats
- Use spray guns to apply gel coat onto parts
- Use scales to measure fills, gel, sprays, resin and putties
- Follow chemical recipes to make gel catalyst, speed patch, resin and putties
- Vacuum area to clean up sanding residue
What you need to have:
- Painting or spraying experience is preferred but not required
- Previous Auto Body work experience is helpful!
- Knowledge of filling techniques in areas throughout the boat.
- Experience with use of air/power/hand tools preferred
- Work with in safety standards
- Basic reading skills
- Basic writing skills
- Good organizational skills and work independently as well as with a team
- Great attention to detail
- Ability to adjust to change and stay focused
This position will handle all gel and glass repair large and small, with a high-quality level in a highly efficient manner to include marking, sanding, routing, filling, glassing, buffing, spraying, and any other technique required to complete assigned work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.65 - $19.00 per hour
