Job Description:
We are looking for a meticulous and knowledgeable Bookkeeper with experience in QuickBooks. The position will also assist with the inventory control system.
Responsibilities Bookkeeper:
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks
- Process accounts payable
- Process accounts receivable transactions
- Perform regular bank reconciliations
- Support bi-weekly payroll processing
- Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and standards specific to Part 145 operations
- Monitor and track company expenses and revenues
- Collaborate with the management team to support financial decision-making
- Handle other bookkeeping duties as required
Responsibilities in the Inventory Control System:
- Familiar with the documentation required for receipt of civil aviation articles that will be used in the performance of maintenance, preventive maintenance and alteration
- Issue purchase orders
- Ensure the proper review is made of materials and parts that are to be stocked for installation on civil aviation articles
- Ensure the preservation and storage of all articles, materials, parts and supplies in the designated location while they are carried in inventory
- Periodically check the shelf-life expectancy of units and verifying the units are labeled correctly
- Control and distribute the inventory, technical information, documents or data received through the parts room.
- Ensure systems are developed to establish and maintain adequate and appropriate inventories levels.
- Ensure that completed work is appropriately packed and shipped.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably within the maintenance (Part 145) sectors
- Proficiency in QuickBooks
- Proficiency in EBIS is highly desired
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations, including specialized items such as Federal Excise Taxes (FET)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
- Must be a US citizen
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Experience in the aviation industry, particularly with Part 135 and/or Part 145 operations, is highly desirable.

The proposed hourly rate range is reflective across all Sherpa 6 locations, years of experience and skill levels. Hourly rate negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.
