Duties
The Operational Specialist is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the restaurant and lounge to ensure efficiency, profitability, compliance, and an exceptional guest experience. This role acts as the bridge between ownership, management, and staff, ensuring policies, procedures, and service standards are consistently executed.
- Oversee daily restaurant and lounge operations during assigned shifts
- Ensure smooth front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) coordination
- Monitor service flow, wait times, guest satisfaction, and staff performance
- Step in to resolve guest concerns and operational issues in real time
Staff Oversight & Training
- Support hiring, on-boarding, and training of FOH, BOH, bar, and security staff
- Enforce company policies, dress code, and service standards
- Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and labor optimization
- Coach employees on performance, customer service, and compliance
Financial & Inventory Control
- Monitor cash handling, drawer counts, and POS accuracy
- Assist with inventory management (liquor, bar supplies, food, paper goods)
- Identify waste, shrinkage, or inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Support cost-control initiatives and profit-driven decisions
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with local and state regulations (alcohol service, food safety, labor laws)
- Enforce responsible alcohol service and incident reporting procedures
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards at all times
Reporting & Communication
- Provide operational updates to ownership or management
- Document incidents, employee issues, and operational challenges
- Assist with SOP development and continuous process improvement
Experience level:
- 2 years of restaurant, lounge, or hospitality operations experience
- Strong leadership and conflict-resolution skills
- Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling, and inventory processes
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and high-volume events
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in nightlife or bar-focused environments
- Understanding of labor cost control and scheduling strategies
- Familiarity with alcohol compliance and safety protocols
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in fast-paced environments
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Lift up to 40 lbs as needed
- Work in loud, fast-paced environments

Weekly day range:
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating weekends
- Weekend availability
