Position Summary

The CRTC is seeking an Advanced Forest Products Manufacturing Technician to join our growing Advanced Forest Products team. This position plays a hands-on role in manufacturing cross-laminated timber (CLT), thermally modified wood products, and other advanced building materials using sustainably sourced Pacific Northwest timber.


Successful candidates will learn to operate manufacturing equipment, maintain quality standards, contribute to continuous improvement efforts, and help build products that support affordable housing, emergency shelters, and economic development initiatives.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you will:

· Learn and safely operate multiple production processes.

· Consistently meet quality and production standards.

· Become cross-trained on multiple manufacturing systems, including CLT production, thermal modification operations, CNC equipment, material handling systems, and future automation and robotic technologies as they are deployed.

· Contribute ideas that improve safety, quality, or efficiency.

· Be viewed by teammates as dependable, trustworthy, and committed to the success of the team.


Education & Experience

· Manufacturing experience or experience running a process and delivering repeatable, high-quality results is valued.

· We are willing to train the right person with a strong work history and demonstrated reliability.

· High school diploma or GED required.

· Technical training, certifications, trade school, or college education are valued but not required.


Health & Safety

Safety is paramount at the CRTC.

· The CRTC operates in a drug-free workplace.

· Candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and background check.

· There is zero tolerance for being impaired while at work.

· Team members must champion safety and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.


Physical Requirements

This is a physically active and physically demanding manufacturing position.

Candidates must be able to:

· Safely lift up to 50 pounds.

· Routinely move wood and other materials.

· Push, pull, bend, lift, twist, and turn throughout the workday.

· Work safely in an active manufacturing environment.

The Building Innovation Center is actively expanding its manufacturing capabilities through investments in automation, robotics, advanced wood manufacturing, and modular construction technologies.
