NICET LEVEL III or IV (required)
The Fire Alarm Installation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and supporting the installation of fire alarm systems across multiple projects. This role ensures all installations comply with NFPA standards, local AHJ requirements, company quality standards, and project timeliness. The coordinator serves as the technical authority and primary point of contact between project managers, installers, inspectors, amd clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate fire alarm system installations from project kickoff through final acceptance
- Review plans, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings for accuracy and code compliance
- Provide technical guidance and support to installation teams in the field
- Ensures installations meet NFPA 72, local codes, and AHJ requirements
- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and final sign offs
- Work closely with project managers to track schedules, labor needs, and material requirements
- Assist with trouble shooting system issues during installation and testing
- Verify proper programming, labeling, documentation, and as-built drawings
- Maintain accurate project records, test reports, compliance documentation
- Serves as the company representative during AHJ inspections and owner walk through
- Support training and mentoring of technicians and junior installers
- Enforce company safety policies and best practices on all job sites
Qualifications
- NICET levels III or IV (Required) Fire Alarm Systems
- 5 Years of hands-on fire alarm installation (Level IV may require leadership experience)
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, Local fire codes
- Experience working directly with AHJ's, inspectors, and general contractors
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with major alarm systems manufacturers (eg., Notifier, Simplex, Edwards, and Siemens, Etc.)
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with documentation, reports, and basic project software
Preferred Skills
- Experience coordinating large or multi-site fire alarm projects
- Background in system programming and commissioning
- Knowledge of integrated systems (sprinkler monitoring, mass notification, security interfaces)
- Valid drivers license (Traveling is required)
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to work in construction environments and active job sites
- Ability to climb latter's, left equipment, perform field inspections
- Willingness to work flexible hours when required by project schedules
Pay: $75, $100,000.00 per year
