Facilities Support Technician Lead

The Facilities Support Technician Lead will oversee facility operations and maintenance at the Springfield, MA Plant. This role requires strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, electrical work, and other facility maintenance trades. The ideal candidate should be able to prioritize tasks effectively. An Electrical or HVAC license is preferred. The individual will work with minimal supervision, ensuring that all operational and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently.

• Responsible for all aspects of facility maintenance, including troubleshooting, vendor coordination, planning, and management.

• Oversees a 40-acre facility, which includes business offices, technical offices, and a 204,000 sq. ft. manufacturing/production space.

• Manages key facility systems, including landscaping, building structures, roofing, power and data distribution, HVAC, lighting, security, fire suppression, snow removal, dynamic test track, and safety protocols.

• Handles daily facility requests from employees while also overseeing long-term planning and project execution.

• Responds to facility emergencies, including power failures, HVAC malfunctions, and other urgent maintenance issues.

• Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and regulatory compliance reports.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• 5 years of facility management experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

• Strong knowledge of HVAC and power systems.

• Proven experience managing vendors, contractors, and suppliers for facility maintenance and expansion.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to read and write in English.

• High school diploma required (Electrical and Mechanical certification preferred).Over five years of electrical and mechanical experience.

• Prior experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.

• Familiarity with environmental regulations and EPA compliance.

• Valid driver’s license issued by State of Massachusetts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with direct communication and reporting responsibility to management staff.
• Experience setting and maintaining department budgets.
• Experience creating and managing OSHA-compliant safety systems.
• Experience operating in an ISO9001 environment.
• Experience creating and operating a facilities help-desk system including establishing and maintaining operating reports.

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, or local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, or local standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour
