Compensation: $120,000 – $195,000 base salary, plus performance-based bonus

Billable Requirement: 1,920–2,000 Hours (Soft Target)
A highly regarded national law firm is seeking an experienced Defense Litigation Attorney to join its New York City office. This opportunity offers the resources and platform of a large national firm alongside the collaborative feel of a close-knit litigation team. The successful candidate will join a growing practice handling a diverse range of sophisticated defense-side matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied caseload of defense litigation matters across multiple practice areas:
- Civil Litigation
- Commercial Litigation
- Construction Litigation
- Corporate Disputes
- Healthcare Litigation
- Labor & Employment
- General Litigation Matters
- Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court appearances
- Maintain regular communication with clients, co-counsel, and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with colleagues across the New York office and broader national platform
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar required
- 2–8 years of litigation experience, ideally on the defense side
- Strong analytical, written, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage cases independently while contributing within a team-based environment
