Residential DSP Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a variety of settings such as residential homes, doctor offices, and in our local community.
- Mentor our individuals to live active, safe, and fulfilling lives.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, cooking, etc.
- Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Support our individuals in maintaining a clean and healthy living environment.
- Assist with medication management and administration as required.
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with individuals in the residential homes and the local community.
- Document the individuals' daily life activities and report any changes in behavior or health status.?
Residential DSP Skills and Requirements:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, their families, and their healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor to provide emotional support to individuals.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid, current PA driver’s license and successfully complete a driving history record check.?
- Successfully complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen and criminal background check.
- Reliable transportation to travel between Johnstown and Somerset. You must be able to get to/from residential group homes which at times do not have a direct bus route or nearby bus stop.
- We are open to creative, flexible scheduling in return for loyal employees! ?????(Full-time, part-time, block scheduling, and casual schedules)
