Role Description
The Sales Specialist is responsible for generating new business and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers by selling Crownstone’s full range of equipment, products, and services. This is a field-based role, with more than 90% of time spent in assigned territories meeting with customers, prospecting new accounts, and supporting ongoing equipment needs. The Sales Specialist does not have a designated office and is expected to be consistently on the road, serving as a trusted resource and partner to customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle, feel, and reach. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds and infrequently up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals as established by the Corporate Sales Manager.
- Develop and execute a sales plan for the assigned territory to grow market share and customer relationships.
- Build, maintain, and expand a strong pipeline of prospective customers through networking, referrals, and proactive outreach.
- Engage with customers to understand their business needs and recommend appropriate equipment, products, and services.
- Demonstrate equipment features, applications, and value through presentations, demonstrations, and customer training.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Crownstone’s product offerings, applications, safety procedures, financing options, sales programs, tax requirements, and transactional processes.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Crownstone’s Sales Standard Operating Procedures and ensure compliance.
- Serve as an industry expert and trusted advisor to customers by staying informed on market trends and product developments.
- Coordinate daily with branch personnel to ensure customer service expectations are met or exceeded.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and post-sale follow-up, addressing and resolving issues as needed.
- Maintain relationships with existing and past customers by sharing updates on new products, services, and enhancements.
- Accurately document sales activity including calls, visits, orders, lost sales, and customer or vendor issues within the CRM system.
- Manage leads, opportunities, and lease renewals assigned by marketing through the CRM.
- Leverage EDA data and lost sales reports to identify prospects and ensure Crownstone’s participation in potential opportunities.
- Participate in trade shows, marketing events, and local industry events to promote Crownstone and build relationships.
- Remain actively engaged in the field to prospect new customers and support current accounts.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
- Previous experience in outside sales, account management, or negotiation-focused roles.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Computer Literacy
- Efficient and professional use of email and time-management systems (Outlook or similar).
- Ability to maintain organized electronic files.
- Experience using OEM information systems and CRM platforms.
- Experience within construction, agriculture, landscaping, or forestry markets preferred.
- DOT Medical Card preferred.
