The successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise to identify and source the correct parts, manage inventory, support service operations, and deliver exceptional customer service. Role Description

The Parts Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the branch parts department, serving as a trusted resource for customers, technicians, and the sales team. This position requires a high level of product knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to accurately identify, source, and manage parts for a wide variety of equipment. The ideal candidate has prior dealership or heavy equipment parts experience and is committed to providing exceptional service while maintaining efficient inventory control and operational excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical knowledge and manufacturer parts catalogs to accurately identify and source parts for customer and service needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships by providing expert recommendations and timely follow-up.
  • Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock organization, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers regarding special orders, backorders, warranty parts, and returns.
  • Work closely with service technicians to ensure parts availability and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Monitor inventory trends and recommend stocking levels based on demand and seasonal needs.
  • Resolve customer concerns and parts-related issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, sales, and purchase orders.
  • Support branch operations and mentor less experienced team members as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Educational & Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a dealership parts department or a related heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or automotive parts environment required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of parts identification, inventory management, and customer service best practices.
  • Ability to interpret parts diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer catalogs.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with dealership management systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Bobcat®, Toro®, Echo®, Stihl®, or similar construction and outdoor power equipment brands.
  • Experience using dealership management software and electronic parts lookup systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory planning, purchasing, and cycle counting.
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification).


Essential Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds and may infrequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
