This role requires strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills to manage carrier relationships, resolve transportation issues, and provide exceptional customer service. The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting operations, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to the overall customer experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting operations, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to the overall customer experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Source and negotiate competitive transportation rates with carriers and service providers.
- Match carriers with freight based on equipment type, location, delivery timelines, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate and manage transportation of freight from origin through final delivery.
- Maintain regular communication with customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure shipment visibility and service excellence.
- Track shipments and proactively address delays or service disruptions.
- Confirm shipper and receiver business hours, loading requirements, and delivery expectations.
- Collect and verify carrier information, including insurance and operating authority.
- Create carrier contracts, bills of lading, and shipment documentation.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with customers, vendors, and carriers.
- Maintain accurate records, data entry, and shipment documentation.
- Support billing and invoicing processes as needed.
- Answer and direct incoming calls, emails, and messages to appropriate parties.
- Resolve transportation issues quickly and professionally while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Cross-train to assist in multiple operational roles as needed.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or freight brokerage preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Mcleod or TMS experience preferred but not required.
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to professionalism and service.
