What you will be doing
Roles and Responsibilities: This job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an employee in this position may be asked to perform from time to time.
- Present restaurant menus and help customers select food/beverages
- Take and serve orders
- Hospitably greet, prepare and serve drinks to guests according to the hotel’s beverage service standards and state laws.
- Prepare station for readiness prior to opening and closing of each shift.
- Follow all cash handling and bank SOPs
- Perform all side work duties according to side work schedules
- Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
- Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
- Issue bills and accept payment
Requirements: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including nights, holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
Skills
- Proven restaurant serving or waitering experience
- One year of cocktail experience preferred
- Communication and hospitality skills
- English required
- Ability to use MICROS
- Full knowledge of TIPs training
- Full knowledge of state liquor laws
- Must have flexible day and evening hour availability; scheduled days and times vary based on need
- Working hours: 4 PM to 11 PM.
- High school diploma is a plus but not required
