Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product inquiries and selections
- Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Restock shelves and organize merchandise to maintain an appealing store layout
- Conduct product demos when applicable to promote new or featured items
- Upsell related products to increase sales opportunities
- Ensure compliance with legal age restrictions for alcohol purchases
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through stock monitoring and merchandising
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly
- Follow phone etiquette standards when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
- Assist with supervising other team members if applicable, ensuring smooth store operations
Experience
- Prior retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery or beverage stores
- Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures
- Experience in supervising or leading a team is a plus
- Bilingual skills are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer engagement
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions, making change, and inventory counts
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail math principles
- Ability to perform product demos and upselling techniques effectively
