Christian School Before School Care Worker

RESPONSIBLE TO:

· Directly to the Principal & Indirectly to the School Board

JOB SUMMARY:

· The Before School Care Worker is responsible for the supervision and care of children before school as to fulfill the Mission Statement of Crown of Life Lutheran School.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Duties as an Before School Care Worker will commence according to the dates on the employment agreement, with attendance being in conformance with the official school calendar and those other days designated by the administration.

· Provide care and supervision for the students using the Before School Care program.

· Seek to instill in each child a healthy attitude of self-worth and accept each as a unique child of God.

· Show competency, good judgment, and self-control when working with children.

· Relate with courtesy, respect, acceptance, and patience to children, staff, and parents.

· Maintain a positive working relationship with colleagues on the COLS staff and Crown of Life Lutheran Church staff.

· Read and follow all policies and procedures in the COLS Faculty Handbook and Personnel Policy Manual.

· Help create a pleasant, inviting atmosphere in which students feel comfortable and secure.

· Ensure that all equipment, materials, and supplies are appropriately cared for, cleaned, and stored daily.

· Be willing to grow spiritually and be involved in the worship life at your church.

· Be at school 15 minutes before duties start and stay until all students have gone to their classrooms.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Active Member of a Christian Church

Familiar with Age-Appropriate Practices for Working with Children

Comfortable speaking to parents and providing information and updates on their children

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
