Job Summary:
As an Automotive Technician at Crown Motors, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure customer safety and satisfaction. You will use your technical expertise to troubleshoot issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure that vehicles are operating at peak performance. Your role is essential in maintaining the reputation of the dealership by providing quality service to every customer.
Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Diagnostics:
- Perform thorough inspections of customer vehicles to diagnose problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Identify mechanical and electrical issues in engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other parts of the vehicle.
- Accurately document vehicle issues and recommended repairs.

Repairs and Maintenance:
- Perform a wide range of repairs, including engine repairs, brake systems, transmissions, air conditioning systems, and more.
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacements, and fluid checks.
- Ensure that repairs are completed in a timely manner while meeting or exceeding dealership quality standards.

Customer Communication:
- Communicate clearly with the service advisors about the condition of vehicles, repair options, and estimated costs.
- Provide recommendations for additional maintenance or repair services based on vehicle inspections.

Shop Operations:
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe, following OSHA and dealership safety standards.
- Use dealership software to record and track vehicle service history, work orders, and parts used.

Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other technicians and service advisors to provide exceptional service to customers.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on new vehicle models, systems, and repair techniques.
- Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise.

Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer standards, and warranty guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of completed services and repairs, including parts used and labor times.
- Comply with all environmental and safety regulations, disposing of hazardous materials correctly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a technical school or automotive program preferred.
- ASE certification or manufacturer-specific certifications are highly desirable.
- Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, equipment, and vehicle repair software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple repair tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and reaching for extended periods.
- Ability to work with tools and equipment in varying temperatures and conditions.
Working Conditions:
This position requires working in the service bay, which may involve exposure to loud noise, fumes, and hazardous materials. Occasional weekend and evening shifts may be required.
