Job Description
Duties And Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Electrical Engineer, the Electrical Technician’s responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Maintain and troubleshoot all electrical systems and devices within the plant
- Knowledge and solid understanding of Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs)
- Edit PLC programming
- Diagnose component issues
- Assist in new installations and upgrades of plant equipment
- Conduct process checks as required
- Perform regular safety inspections to ovens
- Work with and lead outside contractors as needed to complete projects or various plant maintenance functions
- Keep work area safe, clean and organized
- Assist and support other production floor operations as required
- Keep Manufacturing Supervisors and Manufacturing Managers informed of operational status of equipment.
- Complete all administrative tasks, including logbooks, data entry and record keeping in proper order; and
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 -10 years manufacturing experience
- Ability to work overtime or weekends if necessary (for projects)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of variable speed drives (programming and set-up)
- Experience with high pressure hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience with automated material handling systems
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics and manuals
- Experience troubleshooting magnetic controls (e.g. switches, relays and solenoids)
- Knowledge and experience terminating transformers and electric motors
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of OSHA’s electrical safe work practices (e.g. Lock-out/Tag-out, NFPA 70 Electrical Code, NFPA 79 Machinery Standards)
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic troubleshooting and calibration for electronics
- Basic knowledge of servo and stepper motors and drives
- Experience with installing and fashioning electrical conduit and installing electrical wireway and associated hangers
- Able to use DVM, analog type multi-meter, Amprobe, megger, oscilloscope and soldering station #FB
- Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology or Journeyman’s card
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Experience programming and setting up Allen Bradley PLCs
- Logix 5000 based systems
- SLC 500
- PLC-5
- Experience with HMI Programming and set-up
- Rockwell PV and PV
- Automation Direct, C-More Touch Panels
- Knowledge of PLC Network programming and set-up
- DeviceNet
- Ethernet IP
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee may lift and or move up to 50 lbs.
- The employee would stand and/or sit for 8-12 hour shifts
- Generally works in a plant environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to light lifting, warehouse and forklift traffic
- Production noise level is frequently loud
