Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activities program in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Plan and maintain a monthly activity calendar that includes group and individualized programming
- Conduct resident assessments to identify interests, needs, and abilities, and adjust programming accordingly
- Facilitate a variety of activities including social events, therapeutic programs, outings, and holiday celebrations
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary teams to support individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of participation and care plan updates
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including survey readiness
- Recruit, train, and supervise activity staff and volunteers
- Manage department budget, supplies, and community partnerships
- Foster a warm, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere for residents and families
- Previous experience in activities programming in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting required
- Knowledge of CMS guidelines and state regulations related to activities in long-term care
- Activity Director Certification (ADC) or eligibility preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to engage residents with varying cognitive and physical abilities
