Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to join our recovery housing team. In this role, you will work closely with adults in residential recovery from substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to provide direct support, guidance, and resources within the recovery residence that help clients maintain sobriety, build daily living skills, and work toward lasting personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and group support to adult residents in recovery
- Support residents in following house rules, routines, and recovery program expectations
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized care and recovery plans
- Conduct routine safety checks, room/facility rounds, and support drug/alcohol screenings as required
- Collaborate with therapists, clinical staff, case managers, families, and community resources to coordinate care
- Support crisis intervention efforts and help residents build healthy coping strategies
- Help residents develop daily living skills such as scheduling, self-care, and accountability
- Monitor resident wellbeing and document progress, incidents, and shift activity in accordance with program guidelines
- Foster a safe, respectful, and recovery-supportive living environment
Qualifications
- Experience working with adults in behavioral health, substance use, recovery, or residential settings preferred
- Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build trust and rapport with residents from diverse backgrounds
- Understanding of substance use disorder, recovery principles, and trauma-informed care
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and consistent enforcement of house policies
- Comfort working independently, including overnight or weekend shifts as needed
- Relevant certification (e.g., CADC, RADT, CPRS/Peer Recovery Specialist, or state-specific credential) a plus, depending on role requirements
